Los Angeles Angels have dominated the American League West quietly sharing through most of this decade. While their single wild card berth in 2002 consisted of winning the World Series (the team's only win during this decade and in series history for that matter), the LA Angels won six consecutive AL West titles, making them the dominant team in the division through this decade.
2009 marked the sixth consecutive AL West title for the angels and the season was a special time. Dedicated to the life and memory of Nick Adenhart, the young upstart pitcher who tragically lost their lives to negligence by a drunken officer after a game at the start of the season, the angels excellent by season, playing some of the best offensive baseball in sport.
While they face a lofty task in surpasses the Yankees in their ALCS series (the angels have already defeated the Red Sox in a surprising series sweeps), one has to wonder if the angels could very well be considered baseball team of the Decade, should they somehow emerge and capture a 2009 World Series.
The team made the playoffs in 7 of 10 years, and their two World Series titles would be as much as the Red Sox (or other team) could win during the Decade.
This is a team which profes plays some great baseball and they should be remembered as one of the best of the Decade, regardless of what happens here.
